1. About these terms
These terms govern your use of Monsieur Budget during its private beta. The service is offered by Ascencia Solutions, a sole proprietorship of Jeremie Duplessis-Savard, based in Montréal, Québec. In these terms, “we” means Ascencia Solutions.
By creating an account or using the app, you accept these terms. You accept them when you create your account, by ticking a box separate from the privacy policy’s.
How we handle your personal information is explained separately, in our privacy policy.
2. A private beta, by invitation
- Access is by invitation.
- The service is under development. It is provided “as is”: it may contain errors, change, be interrupted or come to an end.
- If we end the service, we will tell you in advance so you have time to download your data. 30 days
- Keep your own copies: download your data from time to time (“Download my data”).
3. Your account
- You sign in with a 6-digit code sent to your email. Protect access to your mailbox: anyone who can open it can sign in to your account.
- Use an email address that is yours, and accurate information.
- Tell us right away if you think someone else has accessed your account.
- You must be 18 or older.
4. No financial, tax or legal advice
- Monsieur Budget is a tool for organizing your finances. Neither the app nor its assistant gives financial, investment, tax or legal advice. Nothing in the service is investment or financial-planning advice within the meaning of the laws administered by the Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF).
- The figures for forms T2125, TP-80, T776 and TP-128 help you fill in your own tax software. The app files nothing, neither with the Canada Revenue Agency nor with Revenu Québec.
- You remain responsible for your tax returns and your financial decisions. Check the figures before using them and, if needed, consult a professional (accountant, tax specialist, financial advisor, lawyer or notary).
5. Your data
- You keep your rights in the data you import or type in. You allow us to process it only to provide the service to you, as described in our privacy policy.
- Import only data you have the right to use, especially information about other people, such as your clients or your tenants.
- You can download your data (“Download my data”) or delete your account (“Delete my account”) at any time.
6. The AI assistant
- The assistant answers from your data, but it can be wrong. Check its answers before acting on them.
- It never moves money. It can suggest a change (a category, a rule, a budget); nothing is applied until you approve it with a tap.
- Each household has a monthly usage cap for the assistant. When the cap is reached, the assistant is unavailable until the 1st of the next month; the rest of the app works normally.
- Do not try to get around its limits or make it produce illegal content.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- access or try to access another person’s account or data;
- try to get around the service’s security, disrupt it or overload it, for example with automated requests;
- upload malicious files;
- use the service for illegal or fraudulent purposes, for example to produce fake invoices;
- resell or rent access to the service.
8. Suspension and closing an account
- We may suspend or close an account that does not follow these terms, or to protect the security of the service or of other people. When possible, we tell you first and let you download your data.
- You can close your account at any time with “Delete my account”. Everything is erased 7 days later, unless you cancel before then.
9. Free during the beta
- Monsieur Budget is free for the whole private beta.
- Before any paid plan arrives, we will tell you in advance. 30 days You will then be able to choose to continue or to leave with your data. You will not be asked to pay without your agreement.
10. Intellectual property
The app, its name, its logo, its text and its code belong to Ascencia Solutions or to those who have licensed them to it. These terms give you the right to use the service for your personal needs or those of your business, and nothing more.
11. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by the laws of Québec:
- the service is provided as is, with no warranty other than those provided by law;
- we are not responsible for decisions you make based on the app or the assistant, nor for errors in your tax returns;
- we are not responsible for indirect damages, such as lost profits or lost business opportunities.
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for intentional or gross fault, or for bodily or moral injury, nor the rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act or any other law of public order.
12. Changes to these terms
We may change these terms, for example to keep up with changes to the service or to the law. We will tell you by email or in the app before a significant change takes effect. 30 days If you refuse the change, you can close your account and leave with your data.
13. Governing law and courts
These terms are governed by the laws of Québec and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Any dispute falls under the courts of Québec, judicial district of Montréal. If you are a consumer, you keep the right to bring a claim before the court of your domicile.
14. Language
This English version is a translation provided for convenience. The French version is the reference version and prevails in case of any difference.
